Book a Fishing Trip, Not Just a Boat
Most Rocky Point fishing websites sell you a boat. Then you are on your own for where to sleep, where to park the truck, what to do with 40 pounds of fillets, and who to call when the wind kicks up. We built this around the trip instead.
You stay at the lodge, a 3-bedroom house in Cholla Bay about 100 feet from the water. We line up a charter with one of our partner captains. You pay the captain directly, at the captain's own price, and we add nothing to the boat. We make our living on the lodge, and the charter help is why fishing groups book with us.

See What You Can Catch in Rocky Point
Rocky Point sits on the northern Sea of Cortez, the closest saltwater fishing to Arizona. Most trips here are reef fishing: you drop baits on rocky bottom and pull up fish that are great on the grill.
| Species | Where you catch them | Good to eat? |
|---|---|---|
| Corvina | Inshore, sandy and muddy bottom, shore | Yes, mild white meat |
| Cabrilla and other sea bass | Reefs and rocky structure | Yes, one of the best |
| Grouper | Deeper reefs on longer trips | Yes, firm and flaky |
| Yellowtail | Offshore reefs and islands | Yes, great raw or grilled |
| Sierra mackerel | Inshore, trolling and casting | Yes, the ceviche fish |
| Triggerfish | Reefs | Yes, underrated |
What bites depends on the season and the tides. See the full Rocky Point fish species guide and the month-by-month fishing calendar.

Arrive and Fish
Two nights, Friday to Sunday. Drive down Friday morning, drop your bags, and be on the water for the 3 p.m. afternoon trip to reefs 4 to 10 miles out. Good for a father and son, or four buddies who want a taste without burning a full day.
Weekend Half Day
Two nights, Friday to Sunday, with a Saturday half day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on reefs 10 to 15 miles out. The classic guys' weekend: fish all morning, nap, grill the catch on the rooftop.
Full Day Crew Trip
Three nights, Thursday to Sunday, with a full day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on reefs 15 to 30 miles out for bigger grouper, snapper, and sea bass. All 10 guys fit on one boat and in one house.

Let Us Handle the Details
- You send dates and crew size. Tell us which trip you want and what you hope to catch.
- We confirm the boat. We check availability with a partner captain within 12 hours and pick the best day around the tides and wind.
- You lock it in. You pay the lodge through our secure link and book the boat with the captain directly.
- You show up. The captain provides rods, reels, tackle, bait, and licenses, and cleans your fish at the dock. You bring drinks and coolers.
- You take it home. Your fillets go in the lodge freezer, then into your coolers for the drive back.
If wind or a port closure cancels the boat, the charter follows the captain's weather policy and we help reschedule it on another day of your stay.
